KOS
WEAVER Kos
hails from Greenwood, South Carolina, where he spent his formative years
playing guitar in various local bands. In 1986 he hooked up with the
sixties one hit wonder band The Swingin' Medallions. Their claim to
fame was "Double Shot (Of My Baby's Love)", which he performed,
more times than he cares to remember, all over the southeastern United
States. In December of 1993 he retired from the party band circuit and
headed to Nashville. He landed with Paul Overstreet's Scarlet Moon
Music. There he put his fascination with both the business and
creative aspects of the entertainment industry to use. In
March of 1994 he was hired to pitch songs for Reba McEntire's Starstruck
Writers Group. Reba sold her company in October of 2000 to
Warner/Chappell, Kos spent eight productive years there. In 2009 he
was asked to run the Nashville Disney Music office where he is currently VP
of Music Publishing. Music
row fortunes have smiled kindly on Kos's career. He has worked with
some of Nashville's best songwriting/artist talent and obtained cuts by
performers like Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw, Martina McBride, and George
Strait. family, fishing, and playing golf. He resides in Davidson County with his wife and two daughters. |
